EEA Emission Review Tool (EMRT) for the National Emission reduction Commitments Directive

Intro

The EMRT-NECD (Emission Review Tool for the National Emission reduction Commitments Directive) is a web-based tool hosted by the EEA to facilitate quality checks and reviews of national emission inventories reported by EU Member States under the National Emission reduction Commitments Directive (NECD, Directive 2016/2284/EU) .

The emission inventory review process and the emission projections review process follow guideline documents provided at the bottom of this page.

NECD Review 2024 - Timeline and Process

 

The timeline of the 2024 NECD Inventory Review process is summarized in the following table.
The focus of 2024 process will be the follow-up of previous review round and the review of data reported in 2024.

The emission projections review process follows the National Air Emissions Projections Review Guidelines. These guidelines can be found below.

For the purpose of the projections review, every Member State has been allocated to a technical review team. This allocation is provided in the document below.
